2011 Volkswagen Routan Review

Volkswagen of America unveiled the Routan, an all-new seven-passenger minivan. Offers the best of both worlds: a vehicle that combines European sensibilities in design, fit and finish, and handling characteristics with the characteristics of the relevant market and exceptional value.


Volkswagen Routan is instantly recognizable as a member of the Volkswagen family, with its stylized front grille and exterior treatments. Internal improvements create an environment that is visually appealing, modern and meticulously detailed. The high quality materials, beautiful textures and rich luxurious colors are combined with tight tolerances and superb fit and finish. Nice and contemporary, the interior also follows the traditional Volkswagen design philosophy that form follows function.

Chaired by the captain of the second row to provide a level of luxury and comfort, whilst offering comfortable traditional minivan, with over 32.7 cubic feet available behind the third row of seats and the size of 83 cubic feet is available behind the second row.


The Volkswagen Routan will come standard with a 3.8-liter V6 engine offering 197 horsepower and 230 lb-ft of torque when combined with the standard six-speed automatic transmission. A 4.0L V6 will be available rated at 253 hp and 263 lb-ft of torque. VW Routan features European suspension and steering tuned for progress in handling and improved driving dynamics. Traction control standard on all stations and ESP, brings safety and security of the Routan. The Routan comes with a host of unique features, including:

Rear seat entertainment system with two 9-inch screens of the second and third rows, wireless headphones and remote control

Volkswagen offers competitive pricing makes this high volume segment, prices will start below $ 25,000. Volkswagen Routan has been developed in collaboration with the Chrysler LLC, and built in an existing plant in Windsor, Ontario.
